Tree Spirit Tree Free Greetings Card

£2.38

A tree formed from celtic knotwork, executed in vivid, jewel-like colours by artist Courtney Davis.

This card has no message inside, so you can write your own. There is a print inside that is a faint copy of the design on the front. It comes with a beautiful matching envelope, again printed with a version of the same image. You can see this in the other pictures on the image carousel.

As part of the manufacturer's aim to have the lowest possible environmental impact, the card does not come in a cellophane sleeve. This range of cards uses no trees in its production. The cards are made from recycled materials and sustainable alternative plant sources, such as sugar cane waste.

The card measures 150mm x 105mm (5 and 7/8 inches x 4 and 1/4 inches).

The Celts and Druids held trees to be very sacred, especially the Oak, which was an important symbol in their religion. They believed that the Oak represented the World Tree, which ties all three worlds together. Their highest branches reach into the Upper World, their trunks lived in the Earth World and below their roots were passageways into the Underworld. The Druids also revered the Oak as a steadfast and hearty tree that represented the immortal soul
