A lovely greetings card showing the goddess Eostre and the hare's egg.
In Anglo-Saxon pagan tradition, the main symbols of the goddess Eostre (Ostara) were the egg and the rabbit. There was a legend that the goddess found an injured bird during winter and in order to save its life, she transformed it into a hare. Although it was no longer a bird, the hare was able to lay eggs.
A verse the refers to this appears on the back of the card. You can see it if you look at the second picture on the image carousel.
Art is by Wendy Andrew. The card is 175mm by 125mm (7 inches by 5 inches) It has a green envelope and comes cellophane wrapped.
