Celtic Cat Earrings
£5.00
A pair of silver metal earrings with a cat twined langourously within a triangular pattern of celtic knotwork.
The triangular element measures 30mm across and the whole earring, from top to bottom, measures 50mm.
The shape the cat is inside is like a simply-drawn triquetra, traditionally used to symbolize the triple goddess.
The earrings are made of nickel-free metal in a silver colour. The drop is double-sided, so you get the same relief design on the back as on the front.
Your earrings will come packed in a pretty silver-grey satin drawstring bag.
An ancient Celtic symbol, the triquetra is considered one of the oldest; dating back to as early as 500 BC when it was used to symbolize the triple goddess (maiden-mother-crone). Over the centuries it has become the symbol for the Holy Trinity among Christians in Ireland. The symbol is often used to represent the 3 fundamental elements – air, water, and earth or the infinite cycle of life. It is also known as a rune of protection.
