A hand-made Viking Knit necklace in silver-coloured copper wire.
Viking knitting is an ancient craft used for fashioning jewellery from finely-drawn metal wires.
This necklace is a simple and elegant length of plain knitting finished with silver metal toggle clasp - you can see a detailed picture of this if you look on the image carousel.
The necklace measures 43cm (17 inches).
Examples of this technique have been found in archaeological sites in Scandinavia and also in the British Isles. Many of these date back to at least the 9th and 10th centuries, the time of the Viking settlements in Britain.
