Wooden Carved Box with Brass Inlay Pentacle

This lovely box is made from a quality Indian hardwood and the top is decorated with floral carving, and a pentacle made from brass which is inlaid into the surface of the wood. There is also a little spring-loaded brass catch on the front of the box.
These boxes measure 150mm x 100mm (external dimensions) and 130mm x 80mm (internal dimensions).
That's 6" x 4" (external) and 5" x 3 and 1/4" (internal).
The Pentacle contains many layers of symbolism. The five points symbolize the four directions with the fifth point as the sanctity of spirit. The circle around the star symbolizes unity and wholeness. Similar to other figures which are made of a single unbroken line, this symbol is used to mark off magical enclosures or ritual areas, especially when used for invocation of deities or spirit.
