Maiden Mother Crone Bronze Wall Ornament
£50.00
On this lovely wall ornament, a swirling triskelle design divides the space into three sections, each devoted to an aspect of the triple goddess. This triskelle is made up of three snakes, each holding in its mouth the tail of the next.
In each section, the goddess strides forth proudly, surrounded by finely detailed motifs symbolic of her life stage. Photographs of each can be found on the image carousel.
The plaque is cast in resin with a polished bronze finish. The back is covered in a velvet fabric to protect your wall finish. There is an array of hooks for hanging on the back of the plaque. Three are spaced around the rim of the disc, which means you can rotate it depending on which aspect of the goddess you want to display most prominently
A beautifully made and substantial item; the plaque is 265mm (26.5cm or 10 and 3/4 inches) in diameter.
The Triple Goddess is the Maiden, Mother, and Crone, often represented as the waxing, full, and waning moon. It is also associated with feminine energy, mystery and psychic abilities. The Maiden represents enchantment, inception, expansion, the female principle, the promise of new beginnings, youth, excitement, and a carefree erotic aura. The Mother represents ripeness, fertility, fulfillment, stability, and power. The Mother Goddess in Greek mythology is Demeter, representing wellspring of life, giving and compassionate. Other mother goddesses include: Aa, Ambika, Ceres, Astarte, Lakshmi. The Crone represents wisdom, repose, and compassion. The Crone in Greek mythology is Hecate - wise, knowing, a culmination of a lifetime of experience.
