A silver metal hairpin with a large Celtic knotwork circle in the centre and in the centre and smaller circular knotwork patterns to each side
The curved shape of the decorative metal is held in place by a long wooden pin passing through it. The pin is made of dark stained wood and has a decorative silver metal finial to the end.
The curved silver metal section of the hairpin measures 7.5cm across and is 6cm high (3 inches by 2 and 1/4 inches).
The wooden pin is 14cm (5 and 1/2 inches) long.
Celtic knots are complete loops that have no start or finish and could be said to represent eternity whether this means loyalty, faith, friendship or love. Only one thread is used in each design which symbolizes how life and eternity are interconnected.
